What Materials Make Good Roofs?

Room 16 has been investigating what materials make good roofs. We experimented with metal (tinfoil), cloth, plastic and wood. We made a roof out of each material and stuck them to walls made from a milk bottle. We tested each roof in different weather conditions. A toaster was used to provide heat like the sun, water from the tap for rain, and a fan for wind. We decided that plastic and cloth were not very good roof material. Alec's group had a roof made of plastic that melted! Metal and wood were better.

Medieval Feast

We had a medieval feast at the end of last term to celebrate our learning about the Middle Ages.

Room 16 made the potage, which is like vegetable soup. It was hard work peeling all the potatoes and carrots, but the end result was worth it! It was yummy!

We had some important guests at our feast, including a jester, who looked very familiar. She caused problems by running around the Great Hall and stealing our crowns, which we had made ourselves using papier mache.

We've never had a meal quite like it!
Welcome to Room 16's new blog!
